Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult
1- How was the beginning of the band, why the name, is it based in the 80's scene?
One dreadful night, during the stormy hours of utmost blackness Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult was called into its baleful existence. That was back during the frosty winter months of 1997 by Onielar (Git+Vox) as well as Ariovist (Drums). The line-up was reinforced by Velnias (Git), who joined six blaspheming months later. It seemed nearly impossible to find someone who'd be suitable for us, since nowadays respectable worthy individuals are rare - only those may join the fucking Slaughtercult. That's why we only had a session bassist (Grigorr) over the period of 5 years. Since the end of the recordings of the first unholy chapter entitled "The Pest Called Humanity" in 1999 Ariovist rests in the past. It was unavoidable for him to die the musical death for he turned more and more into something we despise the most: a human being! During the course of two hard years the remaining two members patiently sharpened the blood crusted steel in order to strike again. Finally 2001 we released our second devastating chapter "Follow the Calls for Battle". With this blackish release Slaughtercult also recruited Horrn as a fulltime member, who as a fellow combatant successfully conquered the vacant drum throne. Half way through 2002 Emporonorr (Bass) finally completed the stable line-up, thus replacing session member Grigorr. The name itself symbolizes something very unique. It definetly tries to capture the spirit of old school black metal. It is the union of occult powers during a so called "midnight mass". For us it has a special meaning. Those who are willing to share our views and thoughts will find their own truth within the works which are released under Slaughtercult's banner of pure fucking black metal. For certain this is the first time someone is placing it's meaning into the 80ies.
2- Will you release your second chapter self-financed or will you sign with a label, will you sign with Century or Osmose, why?
The second all crushing chapter "Follow the Calls for Battle" has been unleashed almost two years ago! Just like "The Pest..." it is also self financed as well as produced. We are our own masters and control the future of Slaughtercult. It is the masterminds behind the "music" who decide when to strike, where to strike, and above all how to strike. In the meantime we have received close to a dozen contract offers mostly of German labels, but also hailing from other European countries as well as countries across the atlantic ocean. We have decided to release the third upcoming chapter once more on our own. These are our manifestations. We put all the sweat and blood in it. We are the ones who show utmost dedication and conviction, this is what breathes the spirit into the "music" not the money of some label! After the release we choose an interested label which can take care of the vinyl version. This is how it works...
3- Is DNS the expression of your soul, are you more a personal band than a commercial one?
A question which needs no further answer than:" Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult performs pure fucking black metal!" In order to deepen this thought it should be clearly stated that Slaughtercult has been called forth from the depth of our own personal mental chasms filled with nihilistic, satanic, misantrophic ideologies.
4- Do you think that the devil exists because the christian church has created it, or is the devil the representation of the mind to fight against the rules?
We shall not bow down before Christ or Satan for they are the product of weak human minds. These are not our believes. We know the occult exists in many "faces". It's existence is very individual, thus it appears to each one of us in different "shapes", which are nothing more than the afore mentioned numerous "faces". The terms "good" and "evil" in comparison to "Christ" and "Satan" are adjusted to the need of the "believer". What it comes down to is that without life even death may die! We follow our own path well off the main road. We're not "fighting the rules". Humanity is nothing more than a herd of sheeps which are in desperate need of a guiding shepherd. We are not this guiding hand, let them stumble onward deeper into the foul swamp of mental enchainment. Our way of thought exists parallel to the ordinary lives of the blind masses. By crowning the I you are placing yourself above the stinking human rank and file. Naturally this creates own rules, or better said elevates yourself to new heights which then again brings forth new boundaries. Conquering these mental boundaries can not be called fighting the rules. The process of learning and evolving is more than a life span.
5- Can you define "mankind", do you think that the world will disappear for humanity's errors?
Humanity, just like Christianity or any god fucking shit - the greatest Pest. Thus we shall not surrender nor stop until we have wiped out these minor creatures and rid the world of the pest called humanity. This statement has been used for our first chapter in 1999. Reflecting these thoughts is at least a dualistic world view which shows the development of mankind. Certainly not the highest of all beings! Already way beyond the point of no return they still keep on heading down the dusty road onward to destruction, onward to self annihilation. Concerning this matter humanity is doing a fine job ! The worlds downfall is more likely to come by filthy human hands than by any others means. Resulting from this fact is the theory of "Creation through destruction", but this is another "story"...
6- How do you define corpsepaint, which is the origin of this and which is the meaning?
Corpsepaint, or in other words our deriding worn out masks! Black Metal hordes without corpsepaint are as serious as the same acts performing during daylight or even taking band shots sunbathing in the forest. Fuck that ! There will not be any of these rather strange behaviours from our side. We take this entire "business" very serious, too many halfhearted morons are at it already, let them do what they think is right. Proud warriors of pure fucking black metal shall strictly ride under the banner of blasphemy! Concerning the meaning we put into using corpsepaint, think about the very first sentence of this answer and you shall find a deeper meaning!
7- Do you spread your ideas through DNS, which are your main points of view?
You mean the "message" we are trying to express through the band ? As mentioned before it is not our intention to set new standards or to be some sort of shepherd for those in desperate need. Slaughtercult stands for own satanic, nihilistic, misantrophic "ideologies". Thus naturally the horde reflects our personal views strictly based on occult experiences. Each and every one should find their own meaning in those releases. Our purpose is done, our goal is reached if the music is able to restore the hatred in "man". On the other hand Slaughtercult shows proof of a constantly growing spiritual greatness. But then again we have found ourselves within the "music", ...to express this "source of enlightenment" in merely a few words is not easy. He who is searching shall find the answer… if time shows mercy upon his counted days…
8- Will you play a show in the near future, why or why not?
In the meantime we have played close to a dozen bloodsmeared live battles. Mainly within Germany, but also the neighboring states like Austria, the Netherlands and Belgium. These live battles are Black Metal celebrations the way the were meant to be!
9- What do you know about Peru or Southamerica?
Not much to be honest. Certainly some hordes from Brazil have made it to the German underground, but these are not even a handful which are known to us.
10- What do you think about NSBM, are you agree with them?
We are growing tired of this shitty discussion ! Once proud circles are now being misused for NS propaganda. Why are bands changing their allegiance, why are pentagrams worked into logos all of a sudden changed into NS symbols ? Fuck this new wave of trendy behaviour. Political themes spawned by filthy human beings have nothing to do with the essence of Black Metal. We support raw black metal based on occult themes. Although, we share certain views of so called NSBM bands, there will never ever be any of this misuse within our ranks. We do not want to have anything to do with this newest trend. May this latest development suffocate on its' own stupidity and "day dreams" !
11- Do you think that the socialism is the solution to a country, maybe a new Cuba, why?
What do we care? It's not like any political movement would change the things as they are right now.
12- How do you define politics, do you agree with your government?
Once again, what do we care ? No government would endorse our "world views". None of us will make a difference. Either learn to live amongst the sheep and drain their life force or simply die underneath their hoofs.
13- What do you think about the Aryan movement, are you agreeing with them, do you think that a country only must belong to homelands, not to foreign ones?
..."sometimes in the dead of the night, dreams, prophecies and horrors - they all come as one…". A filthy human being remains a minor creature no matter of race, gender or ethnic background. As weary eyes are closing - merely the black hooded crow is solemnly paying witness to these deserted interior landscapes. Misty wind-swept moorlands home to those who have found their own "path", but certain death to those seeking guidance. Thus our "homelands" are free of the greatest pestilence. Turning the world into such "homelands" would mean annihilation ! This concerns the spiritual meadows. Concerning the earthly plain of suffering it does not differ much who inhabits our "homelands", for it is us who seek a life free from all minor creatures...
14- If you would have to meet Jesus, Hitler and La Vey, what would you say to them?
Certainly it would be interesting to let these individuals in on what they have done through the course of human history. Well, at least speaking for the bastard son and Hitler, as La Vey has some influence, yes, but not as much regarding history as the other two. Having knowledge about their deeds and the outcome, the resulting aftermath of their doings it would be great to have a discussion exactly about this. Just out of curiosity it would be great to find out if they would change anything knowing what they will cause in several years. On the other hand it would be nice sacrificing them and in return take their role to alter history! The world would be a better place ! The ocean not deep blue but utmost crimson. Above them mighty spires of chaos amidst endless seas of great vast forests vultures are circling carried upon foul winds of mankind's cadaver. As the sun sets crimson shafts of light are caressing a peaceful world, and we breath humanity's last breath.
15- Any future plan?
Upcoming this rotten year is a split LP with DONKELHEET, this should be out April or May. Later on this year awaits the third blasphemous all new chapter. Furthermore the TS design for " The Pest…" is currently in progress. It shall be available within the next weeks. At the end of this year we shall prepare for further live battles.
